Caleb's ready to go and Jordan's new computer

I know it's still summer, but everyday I am thinking about school starting in September. Now that I'm homeschooling all three of them, my mind is constantly going over everything so I don't forget anything! I really wanted Jordan to have a new computer next year since three of his classes he will need the computer and for his Biola classes, I wanted him to have his own computer to type his papers on. I always swore I would never buy another e-machine, but when I saw this computer at Costco for $399, I couldn't resist! So far, so good. No problems yet. It is perfect for what Jordan needs and he can play his games on it without it going slow like his old computer. So yeah for the $399 e-machine!!!
And since Jordan got a new computer, Caleb got the old one! Once I cleaned it off and took all the programs off it, it is perfect for Caleb to play his train game and Caillou game on. My mom got a new desk and gave Caleb her old one. It fits perfect and holds all his schoolbooks. I am so thankful! Got a great deal on a new computer and a free desk for Caleb. Yeah!!!!! That yellow chair was Nathanael's chair when we first started homeschooling eight years ago. I'm so glad we saved it! It is all coming together. September 2, here we come!!!!

San Diego

When we woke up Sunday and started getting ready for church, we decided to jump in the car and head to San Diego instead! We hadn't been there in forever. We had been wanting to take Caleb to the train museum in Balboa Park. We had to have some snow cones, though. It was a hot day!

Caleb had a great time.
The snow cones were yummy!
It was a beautiful day.
The train museum!
Caleb loved seeing all the trains.
When Nathanael and Jordan were younger, this was their favorite place to visit. When did they get so big???
You can't get any better than this. A Thomas the Train table to play with all by yourself!
After the museum, we went to walk around by the water. We had to take a spin on my favorite carousel!
This was walking back to our hotel. Well, Caleb didn't walk. We stayed at the Embassy Suites. You can see it just up ahead.
Jordan was having a fabulous time. :)
My favorite picture. The only time the boys don't fight, LOL.
The view from our room. Over to the left, there was a train crossing. The entire time we were in our room, Caleb looked out the window and watched the trains going by. It was perfect! I'm so glad we went.

Psalm 112

Praise the Lord.
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who finds great delight in his commands.
His children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.
Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever.
Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man.
Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely, who conducts his affairs with justice.
Surely he will never be shaken; a righteous man will be remembered forever.
He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
His heart is secure, he will have no fear; in the end he will look in triumph on his foes.
He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor, his righteousness endures forever; his horn will be lifted high in honor.
The wicked man will see and be vexed, he will gnash his teeth and waste away; the longings of the wicked will come to nothing.

I'm sooooooo excited!!!!

It came, it finally came! Caleb's school books arrived today! I'm branching out and trying something new with him this year. I am a die hard Abeka fan, but with our crazy schedule I was worried about getting everything done with Caleb this year. I had heard about Sonlight before, seen it at conventions, talked with people who had used it, read websites, etc... Well, I went for it and ordered EVERYTHING. It seems like a lot, but when it is put all together it is so exciting! I think what I love the most about it is the organization. Everything is separated and outlined and planned! No running to the store at the last minute for a pinto bean, or a 9 volt battery, or whatever we always needed for those science experiments at the last minute. Everything is already included in the package! Even scissors and crayons and construction paper! It has lesson plans for 36 weeks all completely done. No more Sunday nights at 9:30 trying to plan my week. (Well, I suppose I still have to do that with Nathanael and Jordan, but not Caleb!)

I can't wait to read all these books with Caleb. We had so much fun getting everything out of the boxes. He wanted to start school tonight! All he keeps asking is to look at his schoolbooks!

So, I don't think we will start school tonight, but soon maybe??? I don't think we will be able to wait until September!!! Oh, if only Nathanael and Jordan would be this excited to do school!
