I need to first start this post by saying, this is a complete waste of my time and anyone who is taking the time to read it, but I needed a break from life and think about things that have no significance whatsoever. Also, I am using these pictures without any one's permission and I have no idea who took them. So with that being said...
When I was in high school, someone told me I looked like the person in the first picture. (Think Square Pegs, it was the 1980's). Then a while ago, I don't remember how long ago, I was in a donut shop (yes, I was buying donuts) and the person who worked there was "freaking out" because she thought I looked just like the person in the bottom picture. She even had a magazine she was trying to show me so I could see how much I looked like her. She kept staring at me. I think she was expecting me to start singing, seriously. Well, last week, I was in Starbucks (I really have horrible eating habits) and someone else told me I looked like the person in the top picture. Again, she kept staring at me, like I was lying or something. My question is, do I look like either of these people, and do these people even look alike? Oh, and by the way, I can't sing or act and I think I have aged pretty much like the person in the first picture which is probably where the resemblance comes in.

Do these two people look alike?

Reconnecting with old friends
This morning I went to breakfast with two good friends. One, I have kept in contact with over the years, the other friend I hadn't seen in almost 20 years! I don't feel old enough to be able to say that I haven't talked to someone in 20 years, but its true.
This is Deanne and Angel. Angel and I have been friends since the fourth grade! We lost contact after we got out of high school. Deanne and I have kept in touch and try to see each other at least once a year.
This is me and Angel. It was really good to see her again. It made me feel like a little girl again in some ways, hanging out with someone you used to hang out with as kids. I'm really glad we reconnected again.
Me and Deanne.
The three of us. We all survived high school and are still doing OK 20 years later! :)

Before and After
This picture was taken three years ago, October of 2005, right after Nathanael got his spacers on.
This picture was taken at 9:15 this morning.
11:15 today, no braces and a gift from the orthodontist... a bag of popcorn!
One down, two to go! Jordan's next!

Caleb's first day of preschool 09/08.
Caleb started his first day of preschool today. He is in the same class that both Nathanael and Jordan were in. It really made me feel old having a highschooler and a preschooler. It was a fun first day. I saw someone from a Bible study I was in about five years ago. Her son was also in the class. I think I saw one of my neighbors there. And besides Nathanael and Jordan's old teacher being in the class, I think the main teacher is a mom of one of the kids that Nathanael went to preschool with. Wow, that was a mouthful and hard to write!

Caleb learns to play the Wii.
I suppose it was only a matter of time before Caleb started playing the Wii. Since he mastered the X-Box, why not?
He had a lot of fun boxing Jordan.
He actually started getting tired, which is why he sat down. The scary part is he is pretty good at bowling. He beat me the first time I played him and he beat Jordan last night, which did not make him very happy!
Then Jordan and Scott had to go at it at boxing.
As you can tell, Jordan is very serious about his video games.
He doesn't like to lose. I'm just so glad they weren't boxing for real!

Surfing
Scott took the boys surfing on Saturday. Tim and the girls went and Michelle's dad took pictures.
I think they came out great! Looks like they were having a good time. I'm sorry I missed it.

Misc. things...
Well, we survived our first week of our seventh year of homeschooling. Nathanael has successfully started high school. We went to his Biola orientation today. It's exciting!
After school yesterday, I kept Jordan busy with things for school I just hadn't had a chance to do, like hole punch all 200 cards so I could put a ring in them. I realized, I have my own teacher's aide with Jordan. Doesn't he look thrilled? Jordan hasn't smiled for a picture in almost a year. This was the best I could do. Part of the reason is he has no teeth. He keeps losing all his back teeth so when he smiles there are two holes on either side of his smile. I can't wait to see what his school pictures look like that he took today.
Not that I'm proud of this, but it is kind of exciting, Caleb learned how to play the x-box this week. He is playing golf. Not that I am promoting this for my four year old, but it is kind of nice that he can do something his brother's like, instead of them always having to do something he wants, like puzzles, coloring, etc...
It was cute watching them hang out together :)
Another exciting thing that happened this week was I connected with a friend I hadn't talked to in 20 years. It wasn't through facebook or anything like that, but a mutual friend who connected with her on classmates.com. I am so happy to be in contact with her again. I love the internet. I was talking with someone last night whose husband won't let them have the internet in their home. I couldn't even imagine. I understood his fear, but how could you live without it these days! If it wasn't for the internet, I never would have reconnected with this person from my past. And for that, I am thankful for the internet!
Oh, and if you noticed Jordan's outfit in the second picture, that is his baseball practice gear! Baseball started again tonight. Wow, how did that happen so fast!!!

1 day down, 174 to go!
We started school today.
Jordan likes his new art book.
Nathanael started highschool. Yikes!
Caleb played.
Jordan slaved away at his books.
I can't take pictures with the little camera, they are all blurry. I need my camera fixed or a new camera. Anyway. I am excited for this school year. The boys are excited too. They even admitted it yesterday that they were glad about starting school. Don't tell anyone. LOL.

Surf camp
Our church offers surf camp during the summer. This was the first year Jordan was able to go. He really learned how to surf. Scott was able to go with him a few times. He really enjoyed it.
The last week they received a cool trophy, a Bible with "Surf Camp 08" imprinted on it and a CD with pictures. I'm really glad he got to go, and hopefully he will be able to go again next year!
