Tanaka Farms

On Monday we took a field trip to Tanaka Farms in Irvine. I love it there. It was a gorgeous day.
Caleb loved the petting zoo.
We took a wagon ride around the farm.

They had a really fun corn maze. You really couldn't see out! Jordan led us through safely though :-)

They kids got to pick a pumpkin. As long as they could carry it on their own, they could take it home.

They also got to pick vegetables. They picked radishes, onions, carrots, and green beans. We made chicken soup tonight with the vegetables. It was yummy! I want to go back in the spring when you can pick fresh strawberries!

Crazy Hair Night

I was looking through old pictures and found this from two years ago. We have been doing crazy hair night for a while!

Last Sunday was crazy hair night at Pioneer Clubs. As you can see, this is a night we have fun with. Scott had the Napoleon Dynamite look, Jordan was a 70's rocker, and me, well, lets just say it didn't take me that long to do my hair because I had years of experience :-)
You can't really tell in the picture, but Scott sprayed so much black/white dye in my hair that I still have some left, and I have washed it three times since then! I look like Coleen Williams from the channel 4 news.

Nathanael wouldn't let me do his hair until we got to church, and then I just sprayed it red. Caleb was freaked out by the whole thing and wouldn't even let me come near him, poor thing. Maybe next year we will have a family picture of our crazy hair.

A Place for You

Scott has always loved to read anything written by Jon Courson. I bought him this book a couple of years ago. It is called "A Place for You - Reflections on Heaven." I had never read it before and I picked it up the other day to glance through it and it is one of the best books I have read in a long time. I haven't finished it yet, but I can't wait. It is filled with tons of scriptures and personal stories. It is very easy to read, but deep enough to really make you think about your life here and your eternal life. I highly recommend it!!!

Disneyland

We finally did it. After all these years we got Disneyland passes again. Yeah!!! This picture of Caleb was taking by Jordan? or Brendan? wearing Brendan's hat and sunglasses. I didn't even see this picture until I got home because we were getting the food when they took it.

Caleb loved Disneyland! He is at such a great age. He loved the train (of course). He went on Pirates too. We went later in the day so we didn't go on too many rides, but that is what is so great about having passes, it didn't matter! We can go back whenever we want :-)

Nathanael thought he was too old to get in these pictures, but I'm glad he did, they look so cute!

We met Scott's sisters there, Kim and Laurie, and their kids. Nichole is here from Alaska. It was fun to go with family!

Nichole, Laurie and Lauren.

Jordan and Caleb.

Laurie and Kim.

It was a total spur of the moment thing. When I woke up that morning I never knew I would be at Disneyland that day. The most astonishing thing of all was that Scott actually left work early to go with us and he agreed to buy passes! He is supposed to be off Monday's now, so we will get our money's worth. I can't wait until we go again, especially at Christmas time!!!!!

Karen's birthday

We celebrated my friend Karen's birthday last week. She knew we were going to Mimi's, she just didn't know we would be celebrating her birthday. I think she was surprised! We seem to have gotten into a trend of celebrating birthday's at Mimi's. That is fine with me though because the food is so yummy!
Elizabeth and Shelly
Ellen and Lisa.
Karen and Arlene.

I think we are going to need to try a new place though, at the rate we are going, it is going to be really hard to surprise anyone soon.

It is always such a blessing to get together with friends for food, fun, and fellowship. Three very important things in our lives. It is nice to take a break from the craziness of the day and just laugh and relax and eat!

Jordan and his cat

Do I really even need to write anything?????

The pictures are of our cat (Jordan's cat) Tigger. He acts just like his pictures look! Jordan drew this picture of him last year. He left us a present when we got home today, a half-dead bird on our porch. There were feathers all over the driveway. I didn't take a picture of the bird though, I thought that would have been a little too much.

Caleb and his bike

Jordan took this picture of Caleb last weekend. The bike is still a little too big for him, but he likes being on it just the same!

Dress Up

Chandler and Regan were over Saturday night for Tim's birthday. They dressed up Caleb. He looked so cute! It has been so long since the "dress up" clothes have been used.

He was a combination of policeman, Bibleman and a cowboy.

It looks like they were having a good time!

video game night

Nathanael's friend got an X-Box 360 for his birthday. Nathanael has been wanting to have him over ever since then to play it on our HDTV. Last night he got his chance. They were so excited. They hooked it up to the Internet to go to X-Box live.

What I liked the most about the night was that the older boys included Jordan. It was such a blessing. Who knew video games would bond my two oldest boys?

Bowling

Yesterday was our "homeschooling junior high bowling" event. We didn't have a big turnout, but I think they had fun anyway! Nathanael was the only boy, but I don't really think he minded too much.

The pressure was on though, he didn't want to lose to the girls, but well...
He did better on the second game, he came in third but I didn't get a picture of that screen.

Afterward, they all shared a pizza. It was a great time to bowl. There was nobody there. We are going to try to plan another outing for them. Hopefully, more kids will be able to come. Maybe we will try miniature golf?
